Why I’m One of a Kind
Three things that make me different from every other kid in the Patch.
- My leaves are broadly round and heart-shaped, 5-lobed shallow. Out of all ninety-two of us I am the only one with leaves like mine. I get my own shade to sit in.
- I am yellow and nearly ready. Nobody else in the whole Patch is this color right now. Just me.
- The grown-ups are more sure about me than almost anybody. Out of ninety-one of us I come third for being definitely, properly a real pumpkin.

The Keeper of Warrior Hill
Ben Dover honors Ward Family Rescue Zone in Hobart, named for playful spirit. Today it reads as bright glossy yellow uniform early ripe coat with fine reticulate speckling and light trichome fuzz. It weighs 1.74 lbs at the latest reading. No parent vine has been identified, so it is recorded as a volunteer. It grew in the Patchrealm of Warrior Hill, and it went home at the Harvest Party on Sunday, October 4.
