Mano Po's Theme Song
A theme song for this Pipsqueak is on the way.
A Blessing in Every Hello
Mano Po was added to the registry on October 26, after the last event of the season. His name comes from a Filipino blessing: you take an elder's hand, press the back of it gently to your forehead, and say "Mano po." It shows respect and asks for their blessing. That same day he had his one and only weigh-in: 2 lb 0.7 oz on the scale, 18 inches around and 17 3/4 inches over the top, even bright orange with a very long stem. The Cowboy Pinoy hand-picked him for someone special, and he went home as a Hand-Picked for You gift that helped feed the Rescue's horses this winter.
Things I Want My New Family to Know
From Mano Po, in his own words.
- I don't have any hands, so I bow with my long stem instead. Mano po!
- I'm eighteen inches around and only a quarter-inch less over the top. That's almost perfectly round!
- Now I have a home of my own. Thank you for taking me home!
