Why I’m One of a Kind
Three things that make me different from every other kid in the Patch.
- I am turning proper yellow and nearly ready. Nobody else in the whole Patch is this color right now. Just me.
- The grown-ups looked me all over and said I am healthy, skin intact, shiny, fine fuzz, firm, slight surface scarring near top.
- I got eight out of ten for being even all the way round. That means I sit flat on a step and I will not roll off it.

The Keeper of Novelty Hill
Sieur de la Mâchoire means Lord of the Jaw in French, named for strong squared jawline silhouette of this bold yellow pumpkin, brave and broad-shouldered in Warrior Hill Hobart WA, a noble guardian for Ward Family Rescue kids. Today it reads as vibrant safety-yellow to golden-orange glossy coat with fine stippled texture, faint green crackle remnants. It weighs 1.85 lbs at the latest reading. No parent vine has been identified, so it is recorded as a volunteer. It grew in the Patchrealm of Novelty Hill, and it went home at the Harvest Party on Sunday, October 4.
