Tiger's Theme Song
“Tiger, Fierce and Small” — official biography track
Fierce and Small on Shallow Taproot Island
Tiger was first logged on August 10, off the plant called MarciaΒ³: a bright lime-green ball barely two and a quarter inches across, with tiny fierce stripes that gave him his name. He pushed through chickweed, tall grass and hungry slugs on Shallow Taproot Island, and he stayed in the Patch right through the Harvest Party. By the time he went home he was a glossy deep orange, deeply ribbed and a little flattened, with a long curved stem. On October 18 he went home with Connor, Carrie Ward's son, who measured him himself: 4 lb 11 oz on the scale, 25 inches around and 21 1/4 inches over the top.
Things I Want Connor to Know
From Tiger, in his own words.
- When the grown-ups first found me, I was a little lime-green ball with tiny stripes. That is how I got my name!
- I pushed past the chickweed, the tall grass and the hungry slugs. Small, but fierce!
- You measured me yourself, Connor: 4 pounds 11 ounces of tiger. Thank you for taking me home!
