Why I Need to Be Adopted Today
Three things that make me different from every other kid in the Patch.
- My vine slipped straight through the pallet fence and I got born on the wrong side of it. I am the only one that ever happened to. They built me a little fort out of wire so I would be safe.
- I am the only pumpkin that grew on the Iggy plant. It made one fruit all season, and the fruit was me.
- I am a deep dark green. Nobody else in the whole Patch is this color right now. Just me.

The Keeper of Novelty Hill
Iggy was named for the Outsider, parent unknown, because his vine slipped through the pallet fence and he was born outside. We steered the vine back and built a fort with wire mesh to keep him safe from the horses, weeds and critters. Today it reads as very dark slate-green dense matte base with abundant pale lime-yellow mottling, fine granular speckling, heavy hispid trichome fuzz. It weighs 5.35 lbs at the latest reading. It came up on the Iggy vine. It grows in the Patchrealm of Novelty Hill, and it is looking for somebody to take it home any time.
