Why I’m One of a Kind
Three things that make me different from every other kid in the Patch.
- My shape is long and flat like a surfboard. It turns up exactly one time in the whole Patch, and that time is me.
- My leaves are shaped like a hand. Out of all ninety-two of us I am the only one with leaves like mine. I get my own shade to sit in.
- I am green with pale splotches all over me. Nobody else in the whole Patch is this color right now. Just me.

The Keeper of the Perimeter
Surfboard was named for the codeword for the Apple Vision Goggles used by Imagineers to see how their 3D modeling and concept designs map in the real world environment and just like that technology Surfboard the Pumpkin can. Today it reads as deep glossy green base with dense light-green to cream reticulate mottling and netting waxy cuticle with scattered trichomes slight granular bump texture near blossom end matte to glossy gradient. It weighs 2.65 lbs at the latest reading. It came up on the BoonDock vine. It grew in the Patchrealm of the Perimeter, and it went home at the Harvest Party on Sunday, October 4.
