Walk Through the Patch

Friday, October 16, 2026 · 12–1 PM and 4–5 PM · Hobart, WA

A chalkboard sign outside a red barn. It reads: Adopt a pumpkin at Pipsqueak patch, Friday 16th, 12 to 1 pm and 4 to 5 pm. Below it: Thomasson Farm field trip Friday 30th, 9:15 to 11:30, and Halloween dress-up week, 26th to 30th. A dog statue in goggles and jack-o'-lanterns sit beside it.

The Wisdom came to the Patch

Across 206th Street, where the rooster crows, is Wombat Hollow Farm: a nature-play farm school with goats and pigs, worms and squirrels, and butterfly, bee and edible gardens. Its children call themselves the Wisdom, because a group of wombats is called a wisdom.

On Friday, October 16, the Wisdom walked over to the Ward Family Rescue for two visits, at midday and late afternoon. They explored the Patch, chose their Pipsqueaks and carried them home, and every one of those adoptions put hay out for the animals.
